This is not going to be a very formal blog.
My mom, stepdad and I were talking in the kitchen the other night about Christmas, and what we wanted, and how my brother and I really did not need another bit of kitchen gadgetry. In particular, my mom told me that for years she has had the same cookbooks, and that I didn't need to ask for more since so much was online anyways.
She then pulled out some of the ones from the shelf up above the stove (which I think have not seen the light of day in a long time), when we started looking through my stepdad's famly cookbook.
A while back, for a family reunion, someone had the thought of putting together a recipe book with recipes from the family.
Some were recipes people had seen a few times - or just borrowed, adapted, whatever.
Some though, were true family recipes passed from generation to generation.
So, what I plan on doing is posting a few of these recipes every week. Some, might not be so useful. Some, worth keeping. Either way, putting these into a form where folks can find them much easier I think is worthwhile.
